Why get involved in the ATP program now? We can no longer postpone our personal growth and awakening, even for a single moment. To better understand why every moment is now important, read Why get involved in the ATP Program now. Why do I need to do a practice? Why can't I just read the lessons and still benefit from them? Saying 'I want to become complete' is like saying 'I want to become healthy'. Your desire and focus definitely help to achieve this goal, but it is also important to practice habits that are conducive to becoming healthy or complete. For example, if you want to become healthy, you have to know what kinds of foods are best to eat, how much water to drink and how much exercise will help keep your body in great shape. Then you must apply this knowledge in order to actually become healthy. Effort is the fuel that keeps you moving forward on your journey of personal and spiritual evolution. Why do I need 'structure' like the ATP program? Why can't I just pick a few mind/body practices on my own and do them? See articles section for a more in depth answer to this important question. Here's a brief answer for now: Many students become confused and discouraged when they try to use new lifestyle practices and fail to attain the desired objective. You see, mastering an integrated lifestyle on your own is a little like seeing a demonstration of a martial art like Tae Kwon Do or Jiu - Jitsu and trying to become a black belt in it without a qualified teacher, guiding principles or even fellow students to practice with. Not very wise or practical is it? Must I buy any special equipment in order to participate in the ATP -- one year course? No. The beauty of this program is that you already have within everything you need to do the practices with, nothing extra is necessary. Is a particular faith or religion emphasized in the ATP- one year course? Not at all. The ATP study program is non-denominational and has no particular religious affiliation. It is simply based upon mind/body potentials that exist in all people on this planet, at this time. Everyone can do this. Does the ATP program have religious or spiritual elements? First it is important to understand that spirituality is not the same as religion. There are many ways to look at religion. In one sense, religion implies a concern with the sacred values of life; whereas spirituality refers to direct experience of the sacred. Thus religion can be compared to the train, and spirituality to the destination. The ultimate aim of spiritual practices is awakening; that is to know our true Self, and our relationship to the sacred. In that sense then the ATP program does include spiritual elements. I've read about enlightenment in the past. Is enlightenment the same as completion? Well, 'completion' is a creative state that includes both enlightenment and a complementary component called maturity. By enlightenment we mean those higher states of consciousness that bring light and life into the soul. By maturity we mean the overall development of character and virtue, including the ability to express oneself and participate effectively in the life around us. Simply put, a 'completed human being' is much more than just enlightened. Can I take a course like ATP in college? ATP represents such a quantum leap due to its 'complete' approach that it hasn't yet reached mass education. Currently the cutting-edge ATP program is exclusively offered only through this website and it's supporting printed material. Are there programs similar to ATP, taught elsewhere? We have not found any. There are other transformative paths and practices that offer some benefits, but none that are as complete or as free of dogma or as powerful as the unique ATP course. Are there any downsides to this 'complete approach'? It seems possible, but our students and colleagues haven't encountered one yet. Can children take this ATP-one year course? Yes, the material is presented in such a way that young people from 13 years old to 103 years old can understand, practice and benefit tremendously from this course. |
